Maiduguri, Nigeria – June 13, 2026 — Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have recorded fresh operational successes in the North-East, frustrating coordinated terrorist assaults, rescuing abducted civilians, and disrupting insurgent logistics networks in Borno State.

In a statement issued on Saturday by Lieutenant Colonel Haruna M. Sani, Acting Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North East), the military detailed a series of aggressive operations conducted between June 11 and 12, 2026.

On June 11, troops from Sector 2 conducting fighting patrols around the Amuda general area rescued three abducted children—Ali Usman (15), Umar Ibrahim Abubakar (15), and Fatima Abubakar (12).

The victims had escaped from terrorist hideouts in SAHA and CHINENE within the Mandara Mountains. They were safely reunited with community leaders in Ngoshe after profiling.

The following day, troops in Sector 3 responded swiftly to a kidnapping attempt along the Damasak–Gubio route, rescuing six civilians abandoned by fleeing terrorists near Kareto.

In separate actions, troops of 68 Battalion at Mallam Fatori ambushed suspected ISWAP scouts, recovering an AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 31 rounds of ammunition.

At Check Point 61, Sector 3 troops intercepted 11 suspects in two vehicles suspected of attempting to recover assets linked to terrorist collaborators.

Additionally, troops arrested a suspected logistics courier, Malahi Liman Muhammad, recovering large quantities of herbicides, blankets, salt, food supplies, mobile phones, and other materials intended for terrorist use.

In the early hours of June 12, heavily armed Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists launched a coordinated three-pronged attack on troops at COP Bridge using gun trucks and motorcycles.

The assault from the Wurge, Manawaji, and Kinuba axes was decisively repelled with artillery and mortar support.

The terrorists retreated in disarray, abandoning equipment, including three rocket-propelled grenade launchers and seven high-explosive anti-tank rounds.

Ground signs indicated significant enemy casualties. One soldier sustained injuries from RPG fragments and is receiving treatment.

The Military High Command commended the troops’ gallantry and reaffirmed that Operation Hadin Kai remains firmly in control of the operational environment.

These actions continue to degrade terrorist capabilities, disrupt supply lines, and protect civilian populations in the North-East.
