Abuja, June 14, 2026 β€” The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the next phase of its long-awaited 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, moving shortlisted candidates to physical screening and document verification.

In a press release signed by Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd.), Secretary to the Board, on June 13, 2026, the CDCFIB directed applicants who participated in the online Computer-Based Test (CBT) held in November 2025 to check their status on the official recruitment portal.

Applicants must visit https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng between Monday, June 15 and Friday, June 20, 2026 using their original Application Number from initial registration.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to upload their credentials and select a preferred date and venue for physical screening.

Key Highlights from the Official Statement

- The recruitment process remains completely free. The Board warned that no individual, agent, group, or organisation should demand any fee for shortlisting, venue allocation, document upload, or any other stage.

- Applicants were advised to ignore fake messages, fraudulent links, and unauthorised persons claiming to represent the Board.

- All official communications will come exclusively through the CDCFIB recruitment portal and approved official channels.

- The Board reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, credible, and merit-based process in line with existing recruitment guidelines.

Agencies Involved

The exercise covers recruitment into four key paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior:

- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

- Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)

- Federal Fire Service (FFS)

- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)

The announcement has generated significant attention on social media, with many applicants expressing relief that the process is finally progressing after the November 2025 CBT. However, reactions also include frustration over the long delay, difficulty retrieving old application numbers, and questions about the timing of the update.

Some users welcomed the development as a positive step toward addressing youth unemployment and strengthening national security agencies, while others urged fairness and transparency in the selection.

What Applicants Should Do

  1. Visit the official portal: https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng

  2. Log in with your original Application Number

  3. Check your shortlist status

  4. If shortlisted, follow instructions to upload documents and book screening slot

  5. Prepare all required credentials in advance

The CDCFIB emphasised that only the official portal should be trusted and urged the public to disregard any other sources claiming to offer assistance for a fee.

This latest update marks a critical step forward in one of Nigeria’s major paramilitary recruitment drives, with thousands of applicants eagerly awaiting the outcome of the physical screening phase.
