Suspected Cattle Rustlers Injure Youth in Isolated Bokkos Attack as Plateau Troops Respond
Jos, Plateau State—October 6, 2026—A youth has been injured in an isolated attack by suspected cattle rustlers in Bakkanuk Village, Forof District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State. Security sources confirmed the incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. on October 5, 2026.
The victim, identified as Mr. Kamaillo Godfrey Benedict, a member of the local Volunteer Guard Network (VGN), sustained injuries during the attack.
Troops from Sector 5 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) responded promptly to the distress report. Upon arrival, they found Benedict wounded while the suspected attackers had already fled the scene.
Benedict was immediately evacuated to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for medical care. Security personnel have launched efforts to track the fleeing suspects and prevent further incidents in the area.
