FRSC Holds Q2 Strategy Session to Strengthen Capacity and Service Delivery

Abuja, Nigeria – August 6, 2026—The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Thursday convened its Second Quarter 2026 Corps Marshal Strategy Session with the High Command under the theme “Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Enhanced Service Delivery in a Challenging Operating Environment.”

The strategic meeting brought together the Corps’ top leadership to review second-quarter performance, assess the implementation of earlier resolutions, identify emerging operational challenges, and develop practical strategies to improve service delivery across all formations nationwide.

SGF Applauds FRSC’s Role in National Security

Declaring the session open, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, mni, praised the FRSC for its strategic contributions to national security and its dedication to safeguarding lives and property on Nigerian roads.

He called on the Corps to strengthen operational systems, invest in personnel development, and leverage technology to remain responsive to evolving transportation challenges.

Corps Marshal Calls for Innovation and Accountability

In his welcome address, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, mni, urged participants to embrace innovation, strengthen collaboration, deepen accountability, and produce actionable resolutions that will reposition the FRSC for greater operational excellence.

Mohammed has consistently prioritized professionalism, institutional reforms, and public trust since assuming office, declaring 2026 a year of renewed commitment and improved service delivery.

Focus on Reputation and Public Trust

Adding intellectual depth to the discussions, the President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, fnipr, delivered a presentation titled “Reputation Management and Rebuilding Public Trust.”

He stressed the critical role of public confidence, effective communication, and institutional credibility in achieving sustainable service delivery.

Path Forward for Safer Roads

The Strategy Session is expected to yield measurable outcomes that will further strengthen the Corps’ capacity to deliver on its core mandate of creating safer roads for all Nigerians.

Officials emphasised the need for technology-driven operations, robust data management, continuous capacity building, and efficient resource utilisation.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with road safety challenges, the FRSC’s focus on institutional strengthening and public trust signals a deliberate effort to modernize operations and rebuild confidence among road users.
