Osogbo, Osun State – July 24, 2026 — As the race for Osun State’s governorship heats up ahead of the August 2026 election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is projecting its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (popularly known as AMBO), as a beacon of transparency, reliability, and competent leadership.

In a recent appearance on ARISE News, Kehinde Ayantunji, Member of the Media Committee for the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, delivered a strong endorsement of Oyebamiji, highlighting his 16 years of government experience and proven track record as a high-performing public servant.

Bola Oyebamiji, a seasoned banker and technocrat, previously served as Managing Director/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

He also held the position of Commissioner for Finance in Osun State and was a governorship aspirant in 2018 before stepping aside.

His emergence as the APC consensus candidate in December 2025 positioned him as the party’s flagbearer to challenge incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Ayantunji emphasized Oyebamiji’s financial acumen, noting his ability to manage both surplus and deficit budgets effectively, even during challenging economic periods.

“AMBO brings 16 years of government experience and has built a reputation as a transparent, reliable and responsible leader,” Ayantunji stated.

Recent weeks have seen Oyebamiji’s campaign draw significant crowds across Osun communities, including Odo-Otin, Ede, and Iree.

He has secured endorsements from traditional rulers and groups like the Osun Joint Farmers’ Association.

His seven-point agenda focuses on job creation, infrastructure development, and equitable progress across all local government areas.

The APC is leveraging Oyebamiji’s technocratic background to appeal to voters seeking experienced governance amid ongoing debates over development and public service delivery in the state.

The Osun 2026 governorship election is shaping up as a competitive contest. While the APC rallies behind Oyebamiji, other parties, including the ADC with candidates like Najeem Salaam, are also actively campaigning with notable figures.

Crowd sizes, policy visions, and leadership credentials remain central talking points.

Oyebamiji has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC national leadership, and state stakeholders for their support, positioning his candidacy as one rooted in continuity and fresh technocratic energy.

As the campaign enters its final stretch, voters in Osun State will weigh the candidates’ records, promises, and visions for tackling issues such as infrastructure, employment, and economic growth.

This latest endorsement from within the APC camp underscores the party’s confidence in Bola Oyebamiji as the candidate best equipped to lead Osun into a new era of transparent and effective governance.
