MADRID, Spain — In a decisive and unyielding declaration, Atlético Madrid CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín has slammed the door on any summer departure for star striker Julián Álvarez, making it crystal clear that the Argentine international is not for sale — no matter the price.

“My position is clear, the club’s position is clear. We’ve made it known to the player, his representatives, and the president of Barcelona.”
He added that Atlético has “absolutely no doubt” that the club is the perfect place for Álvarez, describing him as the ideal centre-forward for their project.
The CEO went further, revealing they rejected a €100 million offer and would turn down even €150 million or €200 million bids.
“We do NOT want to transfer him,” he emphasized, while delivering a pointed response to Barcelona’s interest: “I recently heard the president say that the offer he made to Atlético Madrid wasn’t unlimited.
My only response is that our answer is unlimited.”
