Abuja, June 10, 2026 β€” The National Examinations Council (NECO) has alerted the public to the existence of fake online portals recruiting examination supervisors for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal.

In a press statement issued on June 9, 2026, by Acting Director of Information and Public Relations Azeez Sani, NECO said the fraudulent sites ask applicants to submit academic credentials and make payments β€” practices the Council strongly condemns.

NECO clarified that it does not charge any fees for supervisor recruitment. The Council has transitioned from the old manual system to a fully automated electronic process on its official website: https://supervisor.neco.gov.ng. The new system requires no third-party involvement.

Eligible applicants are qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above who are at least 30 years old. NECO plans to recruit no fewer than 22,000 supervisors to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2026 SSCE Internal, scheduled to begin on June 15, 2026.

The digital platform is designed to curb fraud, prevent examination malpractice, and promote transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.

NECO urged members of the public to disregard all unofficial portals and apply only through the official website. Teachers were advised to verify all information directly from NECO’s verified channels.
